When should you use NHS 111?

People should use the NHS 111 service if they need help or advice urgently when it’s not a life-threatening situation.

You should visit 111.nhs.uk if:

  • It’s not a 999 emergency
  • You don’t think it can wait for an appointment with your GP
  • You don’t know who to contact for medical help

Accident and emergency – Dial 999

Whatever the day or time, if you or someone else experiences severe chest pain, loss of blood or suspected broken bones, go to your nearest accident and emergency department or call 999.

Accident and emergency departments are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and can assess serious injuries and provide emergency treatment.

Out of Hours GP Access

You can access general practice appointments on weekday evenings and weekends, at several locations in Milton Keynes. Speak to our care navigators about getting the right appointment for you.

Problem seeing the doctor out of work times? Early Bird surgeries are available by pre-booked appointment to see the doctor or practice nurse. You can book an appointment via our care navigation team.
