7th April 2026 – Physical health and delirium
This session will enable carers to understand the vital link between physical health, delirium and dementia. Including, recognising sudden changes, delirium as a medical emergency, common physical triggers, and prevention.
5th May 2026 – Communication
Discover how small changes in language, tone, and body language can make a big difference. The focus is on building confidence, patience and understanding in everyday interactions.
2nd June 2026 – Reluctance to engage in personal care
This practical session supports carers to understand why a person living with dementia may become reluctant or resistant to personal care. Includes common reasons for reluctance, personal preferences, and personcentred approaches.
7th July 2026 – Emotional impact
Explore the emotional challenges of caring for a loved one with dementia. This session offers space to reflect, build resilience, and find hope in the journey.
4th August 2026 – Men’s workshop:
This practical session is for men who are caring for someone with dementia, to consider understanding dementia, communication and behaviour strategies. Legal and financial essentials, looking after your own well-being.
1st September 2026 – Advance planning
Understand how Advance Care Planning can give people with dementia a voice in their own future, talk about future wishes and choices with confidence supporting dignity and clarity for everyone involved.
6th October 2026 – Behaviours that challenge:
Some behaviours in dementia can be distressing, but they are often a way of expressing unmet needs or confusion. Explore the reasons behind these behaviours create practical strategies to respond with empathy and confidence.
