It was a challenging day but with the good humour and friendly support of our lovely patients we managed to vaccinate around 1400 patients with their flu and or covid.
Sorry and thank you to those who had to queue outside for a while which wasn’t our intention and again highlights our need for bigger premises. We are so grateful that storm Amy held off.
Thank you to our wonderful nurses who gave up their Saturday to vaccinate and therefore, allow the week day appointments to continue with all their usual work and to the admin team who came in to support them.
The Patient Participation Group (PPG) volunteers, once again came to our aid, marshalling people around the practice and car park with a smile and sometimes a song, and the tombola which raised nearly £400 towards their funds which they plough back into the practice to support patients with equipment, newsletters etc. A very big thank you to those people who dropped off prizes beforehand and to those who brought in the chocolates and biscuits to keep everyone going.
We will continue with further flu and covid clinics over the next few weeks but not on such a large scale and if you haven’t yet booked your vaccinations, please speak to a member of our reception team to get booked in.
Having your vaccinations with us really supports the practice.
Thank you again to all patients and staff involved.
