Practice Nurse – UK registered nurse

  • Part-time – 20 hrs per week (over 2 days)
  • Mondays & Wednesday
  • Salary according to experience and qualifications

Due to semi-retirement, we are looking for a Practice Nurse to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone either with experience or new to general practice.

We are a friendly, well-organised, training practice. The Practice has 6 Partners providing care alongside 3 salaried GPs, GP trainee, Pharmacists, Paramedics and Physio team looking after 13,700 patients.

The nursing team consists of 5 other nurses who have specialties in diabetes and respiratory medicine. We have a Nursing Associate, HCA and Phlebotomists.

Also within our team are PCN staff consisting of care coordinators, social prescribers plus an experienced team of admin and reception staff.

We use the SystmOne computer software. Good IT skills are essential.

Experience of a practice nurse is welcome, but we are willing to accept someone new to general practice. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to nursing and a good team player with good work ethic. You will work autonomously and independently in conjunction with other members of the clinical team. You will assess, triage, diagnose and treat patients with a range of problems, with screening and health promotion a high priority. Good communication skills are essential for this role and effective pathways for practice staff and the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Experience in diabetes, respiratory care and prescribing would be welcome but not essential. However, willingness for the candidate to start to undertake training once settled into their position would be encouraged.

They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of the patients, ensuring that practice policies and procedures are followed. They will also assist the Managers and Lead Practice Nurse with duties related to CQC outcomes, ensuring that compliance is maintained.
